For the first time in its history, Budweiser Budvar Premium Lager ranked second among the best selling beer brands in the world's best bars according to the current “The World’s 50 Best Bars” list, as published in the report of the British specialist magazine Drinks International, which has been organizing the list for six years. The editor of "The World's 50 Best Bars" is Mr. Hamish Smith, who at the same time is also the deputy editor of the Drinks International magazine. The list of the best selling beers originated by inquiring in bars, which came in the 1st to 100th places in "The World's 50 Best Bars" list (ranking 51st -100th was not made public). Budvar brand’s beer also broke through in the list of most attractive brands for customers - “Top Trending Brands”, where it finished in the sixth place. The actual list of "The World's 50 Best Bars" is created by the voting of 334 members of the “World's 50 Best Bars Academy”. The members of the Academy are invariably the leading experts from around the world, including three representatives from the Czech Republic.
"This is a brilliant piece of news for us. Our beer is marketed worldwide in the premium segment of original imported lagers. Therefore we try to enter such gastronomic facilities that offer original imported products, which of course include top bars. The fact that our beer was included in the menu by the owners of the world's best bars represents a great honour for us, as the supplier competition in this segment is extremely high," says Budweiser Budvar’s business director Robert Chrt. Budweiser Budvar Premium Lager can, for instance, be ordered by guests in the bars of Bulletin Place (Sydney, 19th place in the list), Eau de Vie (Sydney, 31st place in the list), or Black Pearl (Melbourne, 37th place in the ranking).
In 2014, Budweiser Budvar, N.C. exported the most beer in its history to 70 countries. The export volume reached 813,000 hectolitres of beer, which is 6% more than in 2013.
