Budweiser Budvar is going to support the Theatre of South Bohemia with the amount of CZK 750,000 this year

Budweiser Budvar, N.C. has been continuing as a general sponsor in its long-term co-operation with the Theatre of South Bohemia this year. Budweiser Budvar N.C.’s economic director Petr Žáček is going to present the Theatre of South Bohemia’s director Jiří Šesták with a sponsor’s cheque worth CZK 750,000 on the occasion of “South Bohemian Thalie 2009” prize presentation ceremony this evening at 7 p.m. in the Metropol community centre. The producer of traditional Czech beer has been a partner of this prestigious cultural institution for as many as 17 years.

“The Theatre of South Bohemia ranks amongst the most noteworthy cultural institutions in the Region of South Bohemia, having gained great international fame due to its turning theatre in Český Krumov as well. Since Budweiser Budvar belongs to important South Bohemian companies, the brewery considers it unquestionable to also support the culture advancement in our region. We hope that the amount we gave to the theatre will help to keep pleasing thousands of South Bohemians with top cultural experiences,” stated Budweiser Budvar N.C.’s economic director Petr Žáček.

The beer produced by Budweiser Budvar has even appeared as a prop in some plays performed in the Theatre of South Bohemia, such as in the play of “Odcházení“ (Leaving) by Václav Havel or in the play of “Sajns Fikšn“. Naturally, the theatre visitors can savour the extraordinary flavour of Budweiser Budvar Premium Lager in the “Theatre Club” restaurant and the theatre buffet.
